Hi all,
I need to open a specific mimic from a URL in Virtual ViewX, is it possible to do that? Is there any way to do this?
Thank you!

Has this functionality been implemented, and if so how is it used? I am about to be engaged in a project that others had previously enquired about this functionality and they had received an email (in April 2024) that was forwarded to me. This was the response from Schneider:
"There is a new feature in ViewX, where /openobject:[system:]name on the command line will open the database object 'name' with optional system name. This can be used in Virtual ViewX by adding a URL parameter.
To make this work the 'Allow Browser Arguments' checkbox is ticked in the VVX Server, and the URL becomes
http://localhost:85/?/openobject:%22Opening%20Page%22 "
I have downloaded the latest versions of Geo SCADA 2021 and 2023 (client is currently running 2021, but have checked functionality on both) and found in the Release Notes the information regarding this "openobject" option.
Using the demo project I have successfully had the ViewX shortcut open a mimics with a command such as:
"...\SE.Scada.ViewX.exe" /openobject:"Presentation.Product Life Cycle"
The equivalent URL for Virtual ViewX below, however, requests user credentials but then does not load any mimic: http://localhost:85/?/openobject:"Presentation.Product Life Cycle"
I have confirmed that the "Allow Browser Arguments" field is set for the Virtual ViewX application in the Virtual ViewX Manager. Any other suggestions as this functionality is critical to the viability of our project?

My answers:
Is it possible to open an AlarmList of a Group? - No, but if you have a mimic with the alarm list on it, then display that mimic.
Is it possible to enter the username and password to access directly in the url? No. As Geoff wrote, you could use the Guest user.

I assume that you want users to go to a specific Mimic after they login.
You can set the user's home page to that mimic and select load home page on login.

Not exactly, once the user has logged in, from another program I'd like to open any page directly...

Virtual ViewX is basically just ViewX encapsulated in a HTML5 wrapper so you cannot just externally open a URL and load a mimic. It might be possible to engineer something using the undocumented ViewX automation interface but I do not really think it will work since Virtual ViewX sessions share the same ViewX. If you want to try using it not supported so support will not help. This might be helpful https://community.se.com/t5/EcoStruxure-Geo-SCADA-Expert/ViewX-API-Documentation/m-p/414897 and there are a few other post on here you can search for too.

Hi all
I also have this question as well from a customer who currently has WebX URL's attributed to PowerBI dashboards however, with the transition to VVX the direct link to mimics and trends now appears to be no longer available?
Is there a workaround?

Hi All,
this functionality - adding the mimic name into a URL to Virtual ViewX - is not available right now but is being considered for development and release. More news when we have it!
Steve

I can confirm that the URL feature is available in the latest release however, it does not work with trend objects which is disappointing.

Two questions:
Is it possible to open an AlarmList of a Group?
Is it possible to enter the username and password to access directly in the url?

I have not tried setting any VVX links to specific objects so I don't know the answer. I also don't currently have access to a VVX server.
However this might help with the login part of your question.
There is a setting in the Virtual ViewX Manger that lets you turn off loading the login when you first connect. As long as you are inside you network that likely won't be a problem. If everyone is allowed to View and all you need is viewing rights for what you are doing, that may take care of the login.
