You've not specified which driver (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5 etc.) you're using. In general, create an output point (e.g. DNP3 Binary Output), however for drivers that don't have separate input & output points just enable controls on the point.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply. Currently I use Modbus, I can read the value of the register ( e.g. 40001), but I can't change the value of it.

I think you're mistaken. The Promote feature allows you to automatically promote scanning (to a faster rate) on selected outstation(s) when you control a point, to get feedback from the consequences of the control more quickly.
To write to a Modbus holding register you need to configure either a Modbus Generic Analog Output Point or Modbus Generic Digital Output Point and then use the Control method to perform the write.
