Hello,
How can I read incoming SMS text in ClearSCADA from e 3rd party device?
I have connected ClearSCADA with an Ultra eSAM modem. I can send SMS from ClearSCADA to a cellphone number but incoming SMS does not work.
Thank you.

I suspect out of the box the eSAM won't handle incoming SMS.
You would need to turn off SMS Management on the radio modem itself, and potentially change where the URC messages get sent (since given the eSAM, I suspect you're using AT over TCP.. and the default setting of these modems is typically to not send URC over this interface).
I've currently got some similar modems (Robustel R2000-4L) doing self-testing where they send themselves an SMS every few hours to confirm that the entire loop is working.
As noted by the others, you should follow the how-to, and really even just get it all working from the AT command line without ClearSCADA involved first. If you can use the AT command line to send, and receive an SMS, then getting ClearSCADA to do it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Maybe this will help. I've only seen this done once years ago.

Perhaps get the modem's supported commands. In the Resource Center page:
'The modes supported by a modem can be queried using the "AT+CNMI=?" command (without the quotes) from a VT terminal.'

It was actually a firmware problem as eSAM with the "out-of-the-box" firmware was not able to manage incoming SMS.
Thanks.

@donalselmanaj Can you perhaps detail which firmware version did NOT work, and which one DID work?
That will help others from wondering what they're doing wrong 🙂
I do vaguely remember something similar quite a few years ago, although I can't remember the version numbers either.
From memory it was almost an entire 'series' difference in firmware, I think it shipped with like a 1.xx firmware, and the updated firmware was a 2.xx (NOTE: absolutely do NOT trust these numbers...).
