Hi team,
I've had a few people ask about whether dual circuit meters (Modbus) are compatible with EEH. The meter in question is the METSEEMD461R. Has this meter been tested with EEH?
If it is compatible - How will the data be viewed in the dashboards?
Will we need to provision for 1 or 2 device credits when pricing?
Thank you!
Dean

Hi @WestwoodsAutomation ,
Good news is multi-channel meters are now supported on Panel Server (FW V2.3 or later) and Energy Hub!
You will need to create a custom model for each channel and upload both to the Panel Server. Both models should share the same voltage registers and/or any other global registers. All other registers Current, Power, Energy etc. should be different. By creating 2 separate models you can reuse the same short ID.
I've added a video below of how to add in the models, I used the METSEEMD461R meter. When you add them in, you need to use the same physical ID which is only possible from FW V2.3. If you are using this for Energy Hub, a dual meter will consume 1 device credit.
If you need any advice, feel free to message me 🙂

The list of meter supported by EEH is available on the EEH on line help EEH supported meter list
and the meter METSEEMD461R is not in the list so not tested/validated by EEH.
During the summer, EEH will support Third party energy meter through Panel Server using Custom models so it will offer the possibility to connect not natively supported meter.
However, My understanding is that it won't be possible to create templates for dual or multi counter like this ref with multiple times the same measurement based on the same PDM short name ID... So I'm afraid it won't be possible to embed this dual meter.
Best regards

Hi Dean - adding onto Thierry's email below, there is some investigation starting on dual/multi-circuit support in the Panel Server.
We have not specifically validated that particular device, but we can discuss to better understand how the device is used and whether it could be supported with a custom model in Panel Server.

Hi guys
Has there been any updates on this.
We have some dual meters to interface, howver when setting up the custom modbus profile it appears we are still stuck as we cannot allocate the same short ID.

Thanks so much dean
I note in your video, that the custom Modbus profile you uploaded included the two profiles in the one upload.
Is this as simple as creating both modbus profiles in EPC, adding them in the same folder and compressing it, and then adding it to the panel server? (As i believe you can only add one custom model at a time?)

Hi @BrettWabbis,
Once you have created both Modbus profiles in EPC you can export them at the same time.
First select "Add to Export" and both profiles should appear in your export cart. The compressed folder that downloads will have both Modbus profiles in it.
