Cause
The card reader’s power supply failed to deliver adequate power. The backup battery had also been depleted, resulting in insufficient voltage being supplied to the reader, which caused the “Invalid Read” error.
Resolution
Inspect the card reader’s power supply and backup battery.
- If the power supply is faulty, repair or replace it.
- If the backup battery is depleted, replace it to ensure consistent voltage delivery.
- After replacement, test the reader with a known working access card to confirm functionality.
