I've done a quick search of this forum and not come up with any definitive answers to this question.
I've got an Smart UPS, USB connection, and a system running X64 and Powerchute personal edition, but it doesn't seem to work, at least in terms of reporting any information about the device.
I can't seem to get it to work (get the yellow triangle over the Powerchute Icon in the system tray), I'm thinking of just going with the native XP service.
Would the X74 Vista version of Powerchute work with X64 XP? Is there a version for Windows 2003 server, or do I need to go with one of the server software packages..

Hi,
Smart UPS only support PowerChute Business Edition, not Personal Edition. Personal Edition can only be used with USB Back UPS (versus Smart UPS).
You'll need to uninstall Personal Edition and install Business Edition, [which can be found here|http://www.apcc.com/tools/download/software_comp.cfm?sw_sku=SFPCBE705&id=125&family=&part_num=&swfam...].
We dont have a 64 bit edition of PCBE at this moment in time so you'll need to use the 32 bit version.
XP uses the same version as Server 2003 as well, which you can access from the page above.
Business Edition is split into three components - the Agent, Server and Console. They all install separately. If you are only monitoring one UPS, you can just install the agent portion (which monitors the UPS directly) and access it via a web page rather than installing the server and the console portions as well but either way will work. If you decide to just do the agent, you access the PCBE installation by going to http://127.0.0.1:3052 on the local machine or alternatively http://
Hope this helps!
