UPS sockets too tight

New Back-UPS 600. The sockets are very tight, making it very difficult to plug cables into them; my hands are getting sore! Likewise, I need to put my foot on the UPS unit in order to remove plugs from the sockets. I can see metal prongs inside the sockets, which are no doubt too tight (out of adjustment). Will they loosen up eventually, so that I will not wind up injuring myself or damaging plugs? I have never had this problem with APC units I've owned previously. Thanks.

Thanks, Angela ... I trust they will be loosening up to make it easier on my aging hands. I do have external drives that I use for various purposes, so I do connect/disconnect devices at least once a week. I also like to unplug my computers when thunderstorms are expected.

I haven't heard any complaints about these recently but I know the thought is the customer won't be disconnecting and reconnecting things connected to the UPS daily. They will loosen over time though if you need to be doing that.
