Back-UPS Pro 550 KILLDELAY option
Hi community this is my first post so be gentle with me .
I am using SUSE Linux 13.1 and Windows 7.
I have Back-UPS Pro 550 (Model Number: BR550GI). What I want to do is kill the power to the ups a short time after the PC has been shutdown and not wait for the pre-configured grace period of about 1-2 minutes. I downloaded the APC tray with daemon and edit the cfg file. KILLDELAY parameter was set at 30 secs. The thing is though that when simulating a power failure (remove plug) the UPS continues to run for the same grace period, 1-2 minutes and not 30 secs as configured. When looking at the event log there's a message "Attempting to kill power". From what I can understand the UPS doesn't recognize the command or at least the model doesn't support it. Does it have to be a SmartUPS for the command to work?
The company for which I work has placed a large order for this model and they want the UPS to shut down after a short time after power failure. If you can help me it would be very much appreciated.
