I recently set up a UTS10BI and am using an old UPS 1250ns (750 watts). I am looking for something that can handle the 1800 watt max of the transfer switch.
The problem I see is most UPS's of this size require a 20- 30 amp power source. The convenience outlet is sub rated to 12A from 15 per electrical code.
If I use another outlet from a 20A circuit I may be able to get closer to required charging current.
Thanks for your time

i think the largest VA UPSs we have that are 12A rated, 15AMP total are 1500VA - something like a BR1500G or SMT1500. those probably are around 850 watts though only.
