Hi all, I have bought UPS SURT1000XLI with AP9618 from second hand and have problem with setting IP address of device.
Device IP configuration Utility didnt find any device, Serial connection also didnt work for me (or I'm doing something wrong). I have tried ARP, but after ping I received "Reguest timed out".
Maybe someone could help me with this?

I’m going to assume you bought everything used as it relates to the hardware.
If so, it’s likely the AP9618 has been assigned a fixed IP Address and more than likely one that isn’t on the same subnet / schema.
The Device IP Configuration Tool affirms this because it will only detect an NMC that’s (NOT) configured with an IP Address.
The easiest way to access the NMC is to format the card. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the NMC. Remove the NMC and document the MAC Address on the back of the card.
Reinstall the NMC into the UPS than Insert a paper clip into the reset hole on the lower left side.
Press and hold for 20+ seconds or when the LED flashes orange than release. The NMC will format which can take up to 120 seconds to complete.
Reconnect the Ethernet cable and verify network activity on the NMC LEDS. If present review your switch / firewall for the NMC MAC address which should have been assigned a new DHCP Address.
You can than access the NMC via the assigned DHCP Address and use: apc for both user name / password.

I have tried this and:
When connect AC green led (ok/fault) lit solid light.
Directly after pressing reset button green led was off and orange led from 10/100 start blinking slowly (~0,5s on and 0,5s off). It doesn't matter how long I am pressing reset button nothing changes. When release reset led (ok/fault) start blinking quickly green and orange and after while it back to beginning. Afer this procedure when connect RJ45 to lan it wasn't receive address from DHCP.

If the factory reset has been completed successfully the NMC should be detected by the Device IP Configuration Wizard.
If so you can define all of the network attributes than access the NMC webpage. Please confirm the MAC Address shows up in your router, firewall, switch.
The NMC MAC Address will start with a 00 C0 B7 the IP Address will more than likely by in the 10.X.X.X range.
If the Configuration Wizard isn’t able to connect to it and configure. You may try a direct connection with a cross over cable and adjust the computer one octet up / down from what your network / configuration wizard has found.
Once set up you may open a web browser and complete the remaining settings. Please review this APC FAQ for other alternatives that may assist you:

Unfortunately Device IP configuration wizard cant find any devices (i have checked v 5.0.1 and older one 3.0.1). When I check devices connected to switch i could see that UPS is discovered but without IP address
I'm using TP-Link omada controller and think that the reason could be in DHCP without option 43.

You would be better served by retiring this ancient AP9618 NMC. As the NMC card doesn’t offer any current 2025 ability, features, and security.
You can purchase a used legacy AP9630 / 31 NMC 2 for very cheap on eBay ranging $15 ~ 85.XX. Going this route offers a modern Web UI, current encryption, security updates, and working SMTP / SNMP v3.
If finances are not restricted you should invest in the current AP9640 / 41 NMC 3 card as it offers 1 GB Ethernet, Micro USB Serial, faster processor, larger memory storage for event / data (30000).
Along with current technical support and software development.

Maybe I will have to, because serial connecting didnt work. I have tried all speed options and none of them gave me place to insert login and password. Only strange symbols, letters, or nothing

Have you tried to assign a fixed IP Address by reserving the NMC MAC address via your router / firewall?!?

I have bought AP9630J and now I could connect and monitor my UPS, but there is another problem 😞
All batteries are new (but not original) and when car light bulb 55W is connected every battery work fine more than 20minutes.
I was trying Runtime Calibration without success. Is there anything I could do with this problem?

Hello Tomasz,
Using the NMC please upload the following logs for review: Event, Data, UPS
You may also consider using the About tab to select Support and then generate and export the support logs.
In the interim measure the voltage at the Anderson battery connection while the system is operating and report back the reading.
Next, unplug the Anderson battery connector from the RBC. Measure the initial charged voltage and write it down.
Leave the battery disconnected and let sit for 72 hours. Measure the battery voltage again and report back the reading.
What is the current load (power draw) connected to the UPS?
