I have this UPS for 2 years now and I did not have any problem until now.
Every once in a while the UPS seems to "cut" the electricity of the equipment that is conncted to it momentarily since all the equipemnt restart.
I have connected two nas, one switch and on adsl modem. When I log on to the devices it sees that were restarted forcefully like someone turned them from the plug.
Can someone explain why this is happening and how can I troubleshoot this kind of problem?

I left the UPS unplugged for over 30 hours with minimal load so that the battery will go to 1%.
Then I try to charge it again but after 8 hours it stayed at 1%.
I followed the procedure that Jordan recommended but unfortunately after I tried to charge again the UPS again stayed at 1%.
I do not have either another UPS or another battery.

Nicolas,
Could you provide the exact model and serial number of the unit as it appears on the white sticker on the back of it? During these "cuts", is there any issue with utility power in your building? Do you have any data and event logs you can provide from the unit? Has there ever been any fault indicators on the unit? Aside from these "cuts", if you were to similuate a power outtage, (for example, pull the plug of the UPS to see if goes to battery as it should... Note: I would not try this during business hours but wait for downtime to test) would it go to battery?

Hi Jordan.
The exact model number is BE-700G Uk serial number is 5B1335T05787.
The powerchute shows estimated battery time 42min and no alert or what so ever.
When I simulate the power outtage you were right, the devices are all shuwdown, i.e. the UPS does not stay switch to batteries.
What does this mean? Can I do something about this?

Hi,
Does the UPS keep the systems running for any amount of time or do they crash as soon as AC is cut? If they crash immediately and the UPS is displaying 42 minutes of run time it sounds like the systems are plugged into the surge only outlets and not the battery surge outlets. If they are plugged into the proper outlets I suggest testing to see if the UPS will sustain a load using a lamp. Power down and unplug all the attached systems. Plug a lamp into one of the battery outlets and then remove AC from the UPS. If the lamp stays on then the UPS is working properly.

They crash immediately as soon as AC is cut. No the plugs are in the battery surge outlets, they jsed to work just perfect.
I did a test with a lamp and I am getting the exact same behavior. It doe snot matter is I have 1 device or 5. When AC goes off everything on the UPS goes off.

Hi Nicolas,
I would recommend calling into your local support and inquiring about the warranty status of this backups. It sounds like either the battery or the UPS needs to be replaced.
If you have another UPS of this same type, you could swap the battery and repeat the test to verify it's a battery issue (and relay that to the local support). I'm leaning towards a battery related problem, but it's odd the software is indicating a high runtime. You mentioned in your first post, this issue happens every once in a while. I wonder if it's every two weeks when the UPS runs a self test (which puts the UPS on battery). Other info I would be curious about - is there any reason the battery would have issues this soon that you can think of (such as frequent power issues, heat, etc.)?
Let us know if we can help further.
Thanks,
Tommy

I would recommend running a brain dead procedure:
1) Turn of the unit
2) Unplug the unit from the wall
3) Unplug the equipment attached to the unit
4) Remove the internal battery
5) Hold down the power button for about 20 seconds
6) Reconnect everything and power up the unit
At this point, check for any changes, including re-running the test mentioned above. If no changes, I would suggest contacting your local support for further assistance.
