Awhile back, the Replace Battery light came on along with the constant shrill tone. I purchased a new battery and installed it. However, still having same problem - it works just fine for a few minutes then all of a sudden it instantly cuts power to all outputs, and the Replace Battery light comes on along with the tone. If I hit the front button the light and tone go away for about 30 seconds and then it happens again. Powerchute self test reveals no problems, a test of the battery reveals all is ok. Ideas?

okay. this UPS will need to be replaced. as long as you are under warranty, just contact APC tech support via esupport@apcc.com or 800-890-4272 by phone.
you can point them to this thread or just explain that you have a flashing overload LED with a constant tone which indicates an internal fault with the UPS.

are you absolutely sure it is definitely the replace battery LED coming on? if so, is it solid or flashing?
i have heard of this happening with the overload LED..

OK: I must be losing my mind. I just tested it again and it is the Overload light, not the Replace Battery, and it is blinking.
It will do this after being on for 5 minutes or so with a light load.
Even if I plug the unit in with no load, and leave it turned off, this will happen after about an hour.
When it happens, the unit cuts power to the output immediately, even though the battery is fully charged. Yet if I unplug the unit BEFORE it happens, it continues to provide power to the output with no problem.
