Powerchute Serial Shutdown changing UPS device
I own a number of APC UPS devices. I am using Powerchute Serial Shutdown and have noticed that if I change APC UPS devices the only way the new device is detected in the software is if I manually delete and reinstall the software.
As part of the install process it asks if you want to search for any attached UPS device and then it finds the different UPS device.
Is there any way to force this different UPS detection without without uninstalling and reinstalling the software?

Unfortunately hot-switching of different UPS types is currently not supported in PowerChute Serial Shutdown. It will only work for same UPS type (same communication protocol and same port), but even then it's recommended to do a fresh install if it's not the exact same UPS model. This feature might get added in a future version (removing UPS detection from the installer). For now you will have to do uninstall/reinstall if you want to use a different UPS.
