I'm trying out Windows XP Professional 64 Bit. I got the Backup UPS ES-750 with PowerChute Personal Edition 2.0. According to the website PowerChute is compatible with XP 64 SP1. So if it's compatible with SP1 it should work with SP2 correct?
I got 64 Bit SP2. After installing PowerChute the installer says this:
APC PowerChute installer is unable to disable Windows Native Power Management. You may receive messages from Windows relating to your battery.
Okay so normally on a 32 bit Windows after you restart your computer and look in Power Options the part about batteries is completely gone, like it is supposed to be.
But here on XP 64 the batteries still show up. Okay not a big deal and I figure this is what the installer was trying to tell me that it could not disable this part.
But there is supposed to be a Hibernate tab. There is none at all. I can't seem to enable Hibernation. I'm a little surprised actually. If the software is compatible with XP 64 all the features should show up in Power Options, including the Hibernate Tab.
Is this part just non-functional for XP 64?
