Hi.
I have a new computer with an 850Watt PSU, a semi-expensive video card (GTX 580 "Phantom"), 4 hard discs including an SSD, and a Dell U2711 monitor that uses a maximum of 134Watts.
I am NOT concerned about back up in the case of power failure, but rather, my main concern is in preserving my new machine - its components, from being damaged in the case of sudden power failure or power surge.
In fact, i would prefer a PSU that does NOT entail any (shutting down) software, and am concerned about the price, am aiming for the lower price range, so i am considering a line-interactive UPS (rather than on-line), and have considered the possibility of 2 UPSs, one for my computer and another for my display, if the price is right.
Also, i am wondering if anyone is aware of the kind of service/support APC provides for products bought and used in Israel, which is where i am currently.
Thanks.

Hi. thanks for your reply. I did in fact get the SUA line - APC Smart-UPS 1500VA USB & Serial 230V for my 850W PSU.
It arrived yesterday, i charged the battery all night, but when connecting my computer the UPS, the computer does NOT fully boot, rather it displays the motherboard logo/boot menu.
I posted a thread specific to this issue, have contacted my mobo manufacturer - Asrock, and posted a thread on the Asrock forum too.
thanks again.

Good day! Given the specs that you mentioned above, (although you didn't mention what the site voltage is) I'd suggest that you look into the [Smart-UPS product line available in Israel|http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=165]. The models that start with SUA & SUM are Line Interactive while those that start with SC are also Line Interactive but they output a stepped sine wave when on battery.
