I have been an APCC user for more than 20 years now and I still have a number of APCC products at home for my computers, routers ... This time, I am looking for a UPS just to back up my cordless phone, from the spec of the phone, it literally draws almost nothing (8.5v and 500microamp). I am looking for an UPS that has no bells and whistles but can run my phone for, say, up to 12 hours of outage. I live in a rural area now and during a severe storm, power can be out for hours and without phone can be scary. No, we do not have cell service in the area (closest reception is about 6 miles away) and my old faithful MomBell, POTS phone is starting to fall apart (it's just about impossible now to get a good POTS phone).

well, the issue is all of the back ups support the lower loads but dont have the runtime you are looking for.

you're going to need to get a larger VA UPS (like a Smart UPS) which will have a longer runtime if you really need the 12 hours..
