I've noticed that this issue has been going on since last year.. i recently installed the new version yesterday from version 2 and im wondering why is version 3 for windows 7 still available for download if this issue has not been fixed? I see no difference between the two versions other than a 'check for updates' button than has been added, which IMO is completely useless since again, no update has been made available since its release. I know its not much to click allow, but its really unnecessary to be doing it every time... 2011 is nearly coming to an end.. cmon guys.

h1. this is now fixed!
PCPE version 3.0.0.1 is now available on the web. This is an interim release that is available in English & German and addresses three major concerns.
Fixes in this release:*
•With Windows UAC enabled, when a user logged on to Windows Vista or Windows 7, the UAC dialog always asked the user to approve starting the PowerChute Systray icon. This will no longer happen.
•After un-installing PowerChute, hibernation was not being restored and has been corrected.
• When selecting PowerChute Technical data screen it would be displayed very slowly and sometimes the internal PC fan made a lot of noise (indicating over usage). This has also been addressed.

I made my own workaround for this by using the Windows 7 task scheduler. Basically by authorizing the application elevated privileges at launch time, it doesn't require a UAC prompt. Attached to this, and my next post, are the method I used to get rid of the UAC prompt, while still having UAC active.

None at all
Oh, after creating the scheduled task, delete the link from the startup folder in your start menu. Would be nice if they implimented it in the next version of PowerChute Personal Edition
