I'm using Powerchute personal 1.5.

Error: Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have permission to access this item.

I upgraded to version 2.0 and still get the error.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you

hmm yes, it seems as though something has locked the file.

i'd right click on the file and go to properties and then i think there should be a security tab. i'd see who has what permissions to this file.

if its easier, maybe you'd want to disable all antivirus/firewall and try it or even maybe in safe mode.

Thank you for responding.

The problem has been happening only for the last month or so. I don't shut down and re-boot every day, so i'm not sure. It may or may not coincide with upgrading Comodo Firewall to the latest version.

Here is the entire error....

Windows cannot access the specific device, path or file. You may not have permission to access the file
C:\program files\apc powerchute personal/mainserve.exe
