Hello,
Never had a UPS before, but just got a new PC, and figured that it is about time to consider having one.
New PC runs Windows 7, and has a 350 Watt Power Supply.
Was thinking of the ES 10 Outlet 750 VA BE 750 G.
Apparently it sells for about $ 100.
I looked at the reviews for this device in Amazon, and most seem to like it.
But, there were a number of very negative reviews.
Mainly related to the software they provide to shut off the PC in an event of a failure via the USB connection.
Some said that it just doesn't work.
Others that it damaged the USB port
Others that it damaged their PC
etc.
So, what is your opinions on this unit, please ?
Does the software work with Windows7 ?
Is the unit safe, and effective, to use ?
Would this be a good choice for a PC with a 350 Watt Power Supply ?
Any caveats, things to be aware of, or general comments and opinions would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
We really sorry for the delay in responding to your post.
APC Power Chute Personal Edition version 2.2 does support Windows 7 Operating System. It does work fine with the BE750G UPS. I have not heard a case that the it damages the PC.
In my opinion, the BE750G is one of the latest UPSs which has been popular for Home Computer since it has been launched. It has got the Master Control technology which is used to conserve energy when the Computer is not used.
The size of the UPS depends upon the equipment power consumption and your requirement-runtime. The BE750G UPS output power capacity is 450 Watts / 750 VA. It means that it can support up to 450 Watts / 750 VA on the battery backup outlets. It can supply power for 5 minutes to the Customer approximately on battery mode if the equipment consumes 350 watts during power failure. Click here to view the BE750G runtime graph. It comply with FCC Part 15 Class B,FCC Part 68,NOM,UL 1778 regulatory approvals. It does come with three year warranty and Lifetime : $75000 Equipment Protection Policy.
Happy Holidays!
:)
