I've had my BackUPS XS Series BX1300LCD for a number of years without any problems. This system covers both a small file server and Dish SAT box. Tonight I noticed an error stating the battery in your battery backup is disconnected. I've pulled the batteries and check the connection as well as performing a full power down of the device. At times it will display the capacity on the unit, but most the time it shows no batteries detected. I've pulled power to simulate a power failure and it does still work and show time remaining, but as soon as it is connected back to AC it shows the same error.
I have 4 different UPS's and have replaced batteries many times, but in this instance I'm reluctant to put $60 dollars back into the unit is the failure is not battery related.
Specs:
BackUPS XS Series BX1300LCD
Serial number: JB0652014018
Firmware revision: 836.H4 .D
Software version: PowerChute Personal Edition 2.0
Thoughts?
Thanks,
VG

Thanks for the response JonPro. I do have a 3 month old 1300LCD and that is my next step. Strange thing is it shows capacity about 25% of the time with a good valid run time. I'll swap out the batteries at my next reboot and post back. I was just curious if this was a standard failure others were seeing or something strange where I shouldn't waste my time. 😉
Thanks,
VG

VG,
You are welcome. I hope we can hear from you soon about the outcome. Typically, whenever a UPS shows flashing replace battery LED or disconnected battery it means that the battery has not been connected yet. If it is connected and you have tried reseating the connectors/ cables and it still shows the same thing even after swapping with a known good battery the issues lies with the UPS.

Update to my post: I ordered a new battery from Amazon and it fixed me right up. While I was at it I went ahead and bought a new high capacity for my my really old 650 and put it back on duty again.
Thanks for the help.
