I have a Back UPS 750 that's a few years old. I got a constant beeping from the unit when turned on, so I figured I needed to replace the battery. Got a new battery, plugged the unit it to let it charge, turned the UPS on, still a constant beeping.
Any suggestions? Is the UPS just bad and I need a new one?
thanks,
Baird

So if the unit works fine but just the constant beep stays on? Does the constant beep goes off after a while or does it stay on? I have the SUA1500 server unit and after I put in a new battery, this problem occurs. Every thing works fine and this constant/whistling sound stay on and never go off. I wonder why? The internal fault is when you have all lights go on red and constant beeping sound. My USP unit works perfect except for that annoying constant beep.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Well, this is very odd, I just powered up the system to test what LEDs were blinking. The main power LED blinked green for several sec, and then the LED went out and the constant tone started. I turned the UPS off, then got a stopwatch to actually time the blinking. When I powered the system back on, the power LED blinked green for about 20 sec, there was a click, and the blinking stopped and the UPS seems to be functioning normally. There was absolutely nothing different about the situation now compared to the past. But it apparently works, so I guess that's the main point.
The white sticker on the back reads BEG750G and 3B0824X34168.
thanks,
Baird

Baird,
Would you happen to have the exact model number of the UPS? This is usually located underneath the BackUPS, it is on a small white barcoded sticker. Aside from the constant beep, are you seeing any solid or flashing LEDs? If you do can you tell us exactly what color and icon is it on? These audible and visual indicators would help us determine the fault state of the UPS.

When you turn the UPS on it goes to a cycle known as self-test. The UPS runs this diagnostic to check if there's something wrong with the battery. The click that you've heard comes from the relay inside the UPS especially if you have the Master Control function enabled.
For now, I do suggest that you keep an eye on this UPS.
