My 1 year old APC UPS gives a redlight and loud sound at startup. I get it regularly these days. What has happened to my UPS ? I checked the manual it means an internal error. What is causing this internal error ? How do I fix it ?

The unit has a one year warranty so if it’s still covered you should contact APC Technical Support in your region. If the unit displays a solid red LED and constant tone as indicated in the full user manual this is an internal fault.
If however the LED flashes red and the tone is NOT constant. You may try to move the unit where it’s cooler. Along with cleaning the unit of any possible debris / dust from the vents in case the unit is too hot.
Ive appended the full user manual for your review which also indicates the Indian support contacts:
Let me know . . . 👍

What causes these internal errors ?

Assuming the LED / Tone is solid and continuous there isn’t anything for you to do besides replace the unit. If however the unit is simply hot or air flow is blocked you can clean the unit to ensure proper airflow.
It’s obviously very hot & humid in India and unless your home has air conditioning I would encourage you to clean the unit first.
Let the unit cool down and let sit for a few hours. Once the unit is 20’C power the unit back up and report back what you see and observe.
NOTE: You may try a (Brain Dead) reset procedure to see if there is any change in behaviour. Remove AC Mains from the wall outlet. Disconnect the internal battery. Press and hold the power button until you hear click / beep.
You may not hear anything at all either. Reconnect everything back up and power the unit up.
Report back if there is a change in status / behaviour.

The red light and the constant tone comes only at startup. Once the internal error comes up. I switch off the AC Mains. And wait for it to automatically go off.
Once it goes off, I switch on the AC Mains and then sometimes on starting it now, I get the green light.
Sometimes I have to restart it 2 times, then I get the green light.
What is causing the redlight only at startup ? What does internal error even mean ? Is it a blown IC or something ? My unit is only around 1 year 6 months old. It's not too old to be replaced.
I have invested a lot in this, it's not possible for me to purchase a new one soo soon.
Hoping for a solution.

I haven’t read where you have inspected the unit to see if it needs to be cleaned. Nor have I read the unit has been moved to a cooler area. Completing these two tasks will at the very least remove any doubt the problem is related to being too hot & dirty.
As suggested you may also reach out to APC Technical Support in India. The contact information is at the very bottom of the user manual appended in my first reply.
