Hi,
I have a Smart-UPS SRT 1500 with SRT48RMBP battery pack.
During the days of 12/30 and 12/31 the ups switched off the outlet groups after 7 seconds that the battery had entered due to Bypass not in range; low voltage and for Bypass not in range; either frequency or voltage.
This is the log:
12/30/2021 20:06:39 Device UPS: The output power is now turned on.
12/30/2021 20:06:31 Device UPS: The power for switched outlet group 2, Outlet Group 2, is now turned off.
12/30/2021 20:06:31 Device UPS: The power for switched outlet group 1, Outlet Group 1, is now turned off.
12/30/2021 20:06:30 Device UPS: RFC1628 MIB alarm entry added.
12/30/2021 20:06:30 Device UPS: The output power is turned off.
12/30/2021 20:06:30 Device UPS: The graceful shutdown period has ended.
12/30/2021 20:05:28 Device UPS: A site wiring fault exists.
12/30/2021 20:05:19 Device UPS: RFC1628 MIB alarm entry removed.
12/30/2021 20:05:19 Device UPS: RFC1628 MIB UPS is no longer battery.
12/30/2021 20:05:19 Device UPS: No longer on battery power.
12/30/2021 20:05:18 Device UPS: An input voltage or frequency problem no longer prevents switching to bypass mode.
12/30/2021 20:05:01 Device UPS: Switched outlet group 2, Outlet Group 2, has been commanded to shutdown, sequenced.
12/30/2021 20:05:01 Device UPS: Switched outlet group 1, Outlet Group 1, has been commanded to shutdown, sequenced.
12/30/2021 20:04:55 Device UPS: RFC1628 MIB UPS is on battery.
12/30/2021 20:04:55 Device UPS: On battery power in response to rapid change of input.

12/31/2021 00:12:53 Device UPS: Bypass not in range ; either frequency or voltage.
Why did this happen?
Shouldn't there be more time before shutting down the outlet groups?
Thank you
Greetings

Hi
Well, 7 seconds isn't really that useful..
That being said, I wonder if you have tried a runtime calibration on the unit, just to check if the batteries are performing?
If they come out OK, I would suggetst downloading the support file from the card and contact your local CCC, to have them look at the information in the file.
You can get the support file by logging on to the card and navigating to [About] -> [Support] and choose "Generate Logs".
The Card should then proceed with generating a .tar file with the text files from the NMC and once done you should be able to download it.
Contact info for your local CCC team can be found on APC.com -> https://www.apc.com/us/en/support/contact-us/
Just remeber to change coutry on the top of the page to get the correct info.

Thanks Tonny for your reply.
The UPS model is SRT1500RMXLI and has UPS firmware version 07.3 (ID1025).
Is there an updated firmware to try to install?
Can runtime calibration be done hot with the servers turned on? Can it cause disruptions?
Thank you

Hi
Under normal circumstances The unit is designed to be able to do the runtime calibration without causing a disruption to your operation under normal circumstances. But, defect batteries can in certain instances cause the unit to drop the load, and as it is the battery health we want to investigate in this case I would suggest doing the calibration in a service window, just to be on the safe side.
You can find more information on the runtime calibration here -> https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA284198/
Upgrading firmware on the UPS is generally not suggested, unless there is a specific issue that we know can be fixed with the upgrade.
So, getting a ticket opened in the Customer Care Center and getting the support file to them is probably the best way to go right now. Just to get the right people look at the data from your unit.
That being said, this kind of issue is rarely related to the UPS firmware in my experience.
