how to "force" PCNS to run Run Command File

Hi,

I need to shutdown server on temperature treshold. With PCNS 223 or 224 on Windows 2003 it is ok.

On Windows 2000 servers I have problem, becouse servers are not power off.
I have message "it is now safe to turn off your computer" ....

Power Chute when shut down computer use "clone" of Microsoft shutdown remote command. (information from web ....)

That command do the same on Windows OS 2000. Shutdown computer with message "It si now safe ..."

So I tried to use option in Power Chute:

Configure Events - > Run this command file (full name):

BUT I can't run command at all.

I tried everything from link:
http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1784&p_created=1010390400&p...

with no result.

I tried simply cmd file:

test.cmd
time /T >> C:\apctest\cmdtest.txt

and call it from apc gui:

@START "" "C:\test.cmd"

no result ... I tried combination ...

where is the problem?

any help will be priciated.

best regards

Indira

Here is a Microsoft K-Base that addresses this message:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810903

If you need to immediately test a PCNS shutdown/command file you can set up your PCNS settings, point to the command file, and then go to the NMC that PCNS communicates with and go to "UPS" -> Control. Here you can set the UPS to do a few various things, and ALSO force it to run a PCNS shutdown when you command it to do your selected action, which will immediately use your PCNS settings that you have on your client.

Is there any more info to this? Some of your questions were hard to grasp, so if you could clarify a bit more that would be nice.
