Is there a way to setup email alerts on a reset condition? For instance, when the unit goes on battery it is set to email an alert. is it possible to set these things to email when the error condition clears?
currently this happens:
ups on battery (0x0109): log action, email alert
ups power normal (0x010A): log action, no email alert
I would prefer this:
ups on battery (0x0109): log action, email alert
ups power normal (0x010A): log action, email alert
How do I configure alerts on the reset event, as no clearing conditions show up on my list of events (0x010A)? is that something that can be done via the ini file?
I know this is possible on the 2.1 firmware, but I dont see it on my 3.5.5 firmware units. I dont want to roll back all of my cards to 2.1 as 2.1 doesnt allow for event delays, 2007DST, etc.
Also, I am choosing my alerts by triggering via specific events, and not by category (I am emailing to a text pager, so I dont care to get all notices). If I choose to alert by category, will that fix the problem?

Thanks. its bizarre. I am 110% sure we are dealing with the same event codes. the codes in the message correspond with the event codes in the URL.

Hi,
When you're looking at the event code for one of the warning events, it should have a 0X..... code in the address bar. Also on that page should be the clearing event and event code as well. You can copy the event code into the address bar and overwrite the current one that's in there. By pressing enter this will load the screen for the Informational clearing event.

Do you by any chance have any documentation on the formatting of the event action control section? I am looking through my download of one of the malfunctioning units, and I dont think some of them are listing what the gui has them configured for.
it would be nice to be able to interpret the following as an example:
E0119=E,E[-:+-05S-02M01::],T[:::::],P[:::]
E010F=E,E[+-05S-02M01:-::],T[:::::],P[:::]
they are emailing different recipients, but according to the gui one should be email once and stop, the other email with one repeat after 2 mins. They seem a bit too similar for that to be correct. if I guess, its telling both to repeatedly email. my guess on that setting is wait 05Seconds-after 02mins repeat 01 times.
also, on a totally unrelated note, how in the heck do you turn off the formatting tags in this forum to get bracketed text to be handled literally and not changed into a link?

The one thing I can recommend is to make sure you're using the right event code that's in the HTML address bar matched to the exact event in the config.ini.
The config.ini is not something that should be broken down and re-built. Maybe Cap1 can shed some more light on that.
We recently ran into an issue where we were just overlooking the event codes in emails/HTML address and were accidentally configuring the wrong ones and looking through the INI we found that it's difficult to transpose from one interface to the other.
And I think your breakdown of the cryptic text is correct.
