email of power restored event

I'm trying to set up PCBE to send me an email message when power is restored after going out. If I use the event "Power Restored" it works fine, as long as the power is restored before the computer shuts down. However, if the compter shuts down during the outage that event isn't logged (since the software isn't running when the power comes back).

I could use "Communications Established", but then every time my computer is rebooted it sends an email message, and there's no obvious way to tell if it was rebooting from a power outage, or something else.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to get around this?

Thanks, Rob

yes, you are correct that "Power Restored" event is not recorded when the Computer wakes from graceful shutdown when power is restored to it.

In this situation, I would check the UPS data and event logs which are being recorded by the PCBE to know why the UPS or Server shutdown.

Rob,

You can configure Informational-Power Restored in order for the PCBE to send an email to you when power is restored to the UPS. Please view the attached screen shot to know how to configure this event through the PCBE web interface.

Once you Inside Power restored event configuration page, you can enable Email setting. I hope that this helps.

That works fine as long as the computer hasn't been shut down (because the outage was too long for the UPS battery).

If the computer shuts down then the restoration of power isn't recorded as an event, because the computer and PCBE software don't start up until after the power comes on.

Or does the software keep track of the shutdown and infer that power must have been restored?
