Hi
I have a Symmetra LX 16000. Just recently a message is showing up in the extended run frame that says E.8. I'm pretty sure that it should show what frame it is. Our other one shows 02, and this one used to show 03. Does anyone know what would cause this and if it is an error message? The battery ran an internal self test since this showed up and it passed so I don't think there's a problem

hi.
are you absolutely sure it is E8 and not 8.8 or EF or something like that? was the UPS detecting the battery frame at all as far as you know in the Status menu on the powerview (or the network mangagement card)? are there any faults or failures present on the system - you'd see the fault LED illuminated on the powerview. any information from the logs may be helpful as well - either powerview or network management card.
generally, with any error on the front of the XR frame you'd want to reseat the communications card on the back of the XR frame to begin, making sure that the LED goes off on the card when you do so, confirming the card is being power cycled. lastly, make sure nobody has changed the dial from 03 to anything else strange. this is the card located on the back of the XR frame itself. by the way, this is a safe procedure to do and will not affect the UPS load, this part is hot swappable.
depending on what you see when doing the above, we could swap XR communication cards from the 2nd frame.
let us know what you find out
