Hello everyone
I got a request!
We bought an UPS 30KVA for our informatics system.
The UPS will be loaded at may be between 10 and 15 KVA so the UPS is used with redundancy n+1.
The problem is that the Main power supply wire can only support 20 KVA if we go upper this it will blow up!!!
So as we don't want to change the wire we need to limit the maximum input/output power of the UPS.
I will take a look at this but anyway may besomeone can help about this question.
We can simply unplug on power module but we won't have the redundancy anymore!!
Thanks for your help!
Samy

Hi,
Thank you! I emailed an APC technician.
The only thing we can do is to set an alarm just in case of limit power exceed.
Thank you!

i believe that you will need to contact three phase tech support and you have to get a deviation form to maintain a UPS warranty.

The alarm will be activated based upon a threshold. But it's only an alarm. In the event there's no one around it might be too late.
What I can think of is disabling 1 power module so the UPS will not go beyond 20KVA then configure the UPS to shutdown connected clients when overload threshold is violated.
No matter what, it is just a temporary measure. Reason: if your electrical wires is just nice for 20Kva, a prolonged usage up to it's limits might result in insulation meltdown causing short circuit and even a fire hazard.
