We have CentOS servers. And we are going to buy a new UPS. Just want to make sure that APC Symmetra RM (SYH4k6RMT-TF3) can be managed in a CentOS 5.x server, can shutdown/can restart our CentOS 5.x servers automatically while a power outage event.
This is the UPS:
If anyone knows of this issue, please give me information. It is better that if you provide any successful example or setup procedures.

That UPS ships with a UPS Network Management Card pre-installed and a user would utilize PowerChute Network Shutdown to install on the servers you want to gracefully shutdown.
Here is the compatibility chart: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/SJHN-7AYQNP/SJHN-7AYQNP_R43_EN.pdf
I don't believe Cent OS is supported unfortunately (even though our Linux version of the software may install) so you may want to look at open source alternatives such as apcupsd (apcupsd.org) and Network UPS tools (NUT). I know apcupsd has some compatibility with our Network Management Cards but I am not sure on NUT.
