Powerchute personal 3.0.2 needs admin on Windows7 to show status?
I just installed the free download Powerchute Personal 3.0.2 on my Windows 7 desktop a couple of days ago, as the local admin account. No problems, showed status & all of the UPS (Back-UPS RS 1200).
Now, running as a non-admin user, when I try to open the application, or show the status (right-click on the System Tray icon), Windows 7 UAC pops up & wants an admin login. If I log in as the local admin, the app/status display without any problem.
I submit that this is not at all useful, we have lots of desktops where people do not have admin access at all, so how could they check the status of their UPS? This didn't happen with PC v2.0 on Windows XP -- a non-admin user could display the status, but not run diagnostic/check or change settings. But at least the status would display.
