Ups does not shut down my server

Dear All,

I am joined a company as a new network admin and i did discover that the UPS had a problem
its a APC smart 1500VA USB n serial model SUA1500I

the replace battery light was on

so the dealer replaced with new batties and the UPS is fine

i did connect my windows 2003 server with the smart UPS and it detected fine and after installing the software

PowerChute Business Edition v8.0.1 for Windows

i logged into and tried to setup automatic shutdown

by using configure in the protected mode section

but the UPS does not shut down the server

but if i double click on the file shutdown.exe which is in the agent directory the windows 2003 server shuts down gracefully

apprecite if somneone can help me with the settings

i would like 15 minutes for the server to be on batteries after a power failure . if power is not restored after 15 minutes the ups should shut down the server

apprecite your kind reply and help

Simon,

Have you configured the Low Battery Signal under Protected Systems-->Shutdown settings? If you have not configured, then please set the Low Battery Signal in order for the PCBE to initiate the graceful shutdown when the UPS runtime is remaining X minutes. Please view the attached screen shot for your reference.

Good day Simon,

If you would like to shutdown the server after running on battery for 15 minutes kindly access the web interface of your PowerChute Business Agent by typing in http://127.0.0.1:3052 on the browser were our software is installed. It will ask you to login so please type in the username and password that you have set. Once you are on the Agent interface click on Events and the Actions. Under the Warning section look for the one that says Time On Battery Threshold Exceeded and then click on it. On the configuration page, set it to +15 minutes+ and then down below where it says Initiate Shutdown Sequence please make sure that there is a check mark.

Please see the attached image for your reference.
