Uninstall Powerchute Network Shutdown 3.0

Hello,

I uninstalled Java from a Server 2008 (64bit) machine thinking PCNS was installed with its own internal Java; it wasnt.

I have reinstalled the same Java version but cant get it working again. So as there is a new version (3.1) I figure I'll try to uninstall it completly, remove java and install 3.1 with its own inbuilt Java option.

Its doesnt seem to want to uninstall cleanly however, its says it is uninstalled when first ran from control panel but the entry remains, as does the service and plenty of files in the APC folder.

On trying to install 3.1 its says an existing installation is detected and to upgrade but this fails.

Any advice on how I can remove to perform a clean install?

Hi,

Stop the PCNS service if it shows as running, then clean any remaining files out of the registry, and finally remove the PowerChute folder. I have attached a PDF that list the registry entries for PCNS 3.x. Please note that editing the registry incorrectly can cause damage to the system. These instruction are provided to use at your own risk.

For Server 2008 go to start and in search type regedit. Once the registry launches search for the entries listed in the PDF and remove any that remain.
