PowerChute initiates shutdown too soon
I have an old Smart-UPS-1500 which is still doing great service powering a small network load in a remote location.
I am running PowerChute BE v 9.0.1 under Win7. I have various servers and other UPS systems.
When power fails the shutdown sequences work as advertised and all the heavy loads shut down gracefully. However my problem is with the old 1500.
It has lots of runtime because the load is negligible. A calibration test had it running well over 24 hours - yet the PC software only shows a runtime of 38 minutes. I am guessing this is a wrap-around artifact caused by the long calibration time. However the parameter cannot be changed.
The effect is that the software shuts everything down after 32 mintes of darkness - even though I wound up the Server Shutdown parameter to its maximum 60 minutes.
The problem is PC not the UPS. If I could get PC to stop shutting things down I would be happy. However I cannot see a way to do that - short of reverting to using the UPS as a dumb device and abandoning the use of PC.
The aim is to be able to load shed on backout but to leave some loads running for an extended period, which the battery will support, so that portable devices can continue using the network long after the servers have been hibernated.
How can I tell PC that the battery run time is longer than the 38 minutes it seems to think - or how can I stop it initiating shutdown?
