Does anyone know of a way to upload a user config file to an AP9630/31? I've tried
- the web UI - this simply generates a page error in both IE9 and Chrome
- downgrading the firmware from v5.1.7 to 5.1.5 and v5.1.1 - all have the same problem
- adding the config.ini file via FTP - this generates 2 config.ini files in the root directory - it's almost as if the config.ini file is protected.
- reflashing the firmware - doesn't help.
If there's an older version of firmware on which this works reliably (e.g. v5.0.1), can someone please let me have it. We only have Smart UPS Online in the company, if that helps.
Thanks in advance,
Rich Maclannan

do you use HTTP or HTTPS access for the web UI? if HTTPS, i think there is a known issue with that.
via FTP, when you see config.ini there, it is just a place holder so I wouldn't worry too much about that part. when you download the config.ini, the NMC generates it on the fly and gives it to you. when you upload it, you might briefly see two files listed here.
it'd be helpful if you can show us event.txt and provide the config.ini you are uploading to see if we can find any additional problems. the event log on the web UI (event.txt) should log any file upload events and if it detected valid values or not.
can you provide at least the event.txt via FTP?

What is the error you get when trying to upload the config via the web?

Hi Chris,
It's simply a generic "page could not be displayed" message. However, as below (in the forum), it's via HTTPS, so I'll give it a go with HTTP later on.

just a note, FTP still should work fine even if you are experiencing the issue I am aware of via web UI and HTTPS.

Ok - the problem was definitely to do with the HTTPS web UI - HTTP works fine. Thanks "I picKed a winna"!
And the FTP upload thing also works correctly. Sorry to waste people's time, but at least the HTTPS issue was clarified.
