Hi,
I just install PCNS on two computers, with one in Windows 7 no problem. With the other in Windows XP MCE French SP3, no problem during the installation, but after I'am unable to access the Login Page on the Server (127.0.0.1:6547 or the LocalIP:6547).
With IE8 or Firefox
With PCNS 2.2.3 or 2.2.4
Reinstallation of Java
Disabled : Firewall / Anti-Virus
Do you have a solution...

what comes to mind is:
1.) make sure that APC PowerChute Network Shutdown service is started within the registered services. You can check that in the Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services. If it is not started, start it and make sure its set to automatic. you can also try restarting it. this is the first step to make sure the service is running properly so we do not waste time with the steps below.
2.) specifically make sure you try to type https:// before the links below that you tried. you can also try http://127.0.0.1:3052 or http://IPaddress:3052 and see if it redirects you to the proper link
3.) try to add https://IP:6547, https://127.0.0.1:6547 and the links mentioned above to the trusted sites within the IE internet options.
4.) have you tried another browser besides IE8?
5.) do you get any type of message on the screen/browser - such as Error on page and page cannot be displayed? what exactly do you see?
6.) try accessing this from a remote computer if possible using https://IP:6547 to see if its accessible over the network.
i hope that helps you get started

Hi, "i picKed a winna"
I tried all of those steps but still no juice. I checked the ports to make sure they are not blocked or in use. The strange thing is that the server was able to register itself in the clients section of the management card gui.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Same for me, I stop the Service and restart them... I have no error, IE8 or Firefox just try to acces the page and still wait.
In the installation the PCNS regist itself with the card.
With this computer who PCNS won't respond I'am able to get acccess to the PCNS with IE8 of my other computer and manage it.
Best Regards

do these systems have any type of restrictions on them?
king1983, can you get to the server from a remote computer? just not on the actual server itself? i tend to think it is a browser issue but it could be something else.

System have no restrictions that I am aware of, life I said before there is no firewall, its pretty much setup like all the other servers where the application is working.
Yes I can get to the server remotely, using vnc and rdp. I tried 3 different browser flavours, so i dont think its a browser. I realised something yesterday, there is no TCP port for 3052 or 6547, but there is a UDP port that shows up when I run netstat. I'm thinking that is the source of my problem. How would I go about opening that port?

i am not sure how to do it honestly, besides opening it in windows firewall or adding it as an exception.
when i meant can you access the server remotely, can you access the PCNS installation remotely? or just the server desktop, through remote desktop for instance?

No I can't actually, I tried both locally and remotely but same error message with website not found etc... But from what I understand I thought the ports were to be opened/created upon installation of the software. I will check the logs to see if there were any errors in creating/opening that particular port.

I tried to re-run the installation a little while ago and I am getting the following error "cannot communicate with management card. Do you want to continue with the installation?" Any thoughts? If I put in the incorrect pass phrase it will return with a error saying the codes dont match. grrrrrrrr
When I input the correct pass phrase the error code now says " a timeout occurred while waiting for a response

After multiple restarts of the server, the port is now listening and everything appears to be working. Thanks for all your help guys/gals.
