Hi all, I recently took over a lab that has a Symmetra PX system that I am not able to access via SSH/HTTP(s). Can someone please let me know how I can resolve this or if there is an app I can use instead of the below connections? Thanks in advance!
SSH immediately closes session (connection refused)
HTTP works but says I need to use a secure connection
HTTPS SSL_Error_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP
-b

Hi,
Do you know which model of Symmetra PX this is or what model Network Management Card (NMC) is in it by chance? This can help us.
In general, Telnet is on by default. Can you see if that works to get in? If it is, then you can see what firmware is on the system (look at the top right of the screen) and also maybe turn on HTTP temporarily just to get in and sort this out. Then, maybe switch to HTTPS later.
The no cipher overlap message makes me think you have an older NMC and/or firmware which may not play nice with a modern browser. Once we know more about what model of NMC and firmware, then we can hopefully move forward.
You also may need to reset the password I imagine which does require local access. From here, you can also reset the NMC to defaults if you need to start fresh. Instructions on password reset are here: http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156075 but you'll need to pinpoint what model of PX and then what model of UPS Network Management Card (which if you're local to the UPS, you can look at what it says around the RJ-45 jack for model of management card.
