Hiwe have a APC 1000 on a Synology 3018xs. In Synology Setttings i adjust the Synology to remain 15 minutes in battery and then switch to save mode.
The APC 1000 was installed without changing any settings.
Problem is.
Every day or two on different times the Synology write me a email that says it goes to battery mode.
Then on the same minute another email comes that said it goes back to power mode.
Why is this? Ps live in Germany here.

Hi Oli -
You are experiencing an intermittent power issue. If you are using Powerchute Business Edition you can review the logs to see if it is a voltage disturbance or perhaps related to distortion or frequency drift. You can adjust the sensitivity of the UPS and voltage transfer points via Powerchute Business Edition. Alternately if you want to adjust via the LCD screen on the UPS you can use the steps outlined on page 7 of the users manual, which you can download here: http://www.apc.com/salestools/AHUG-9D8BRK/AHUG-9D8BRK_R2_EN.pdf
Thanks
Liam

Hi Oli,
Which particular UPS model are you using? APC has several different 1kVA models so I just want to see if this is a UPS that is capable of logging input data.
APC UPS models are designed to perform a self test (battery test) which results in a momentary transfer to battery after which the UPS transfers back to online mode. A self test is typically performed every time the UPS is turned on,or every 7 or 14 days, depending on the configuration, but would not normally be performed automatically every day or two.
Input conditions such as a momentary voltage spike or sag could also result in the UPS transferring to battery for a short time.

Hi,
You will find the exact model number of the UPS on the bar code sticker.
The bar code sticker will be on the back of the unit or possible behind the front bezel of a rack mount unit.
If the Smart-UPS is a SMT, SMX, or SRT 1000 those units will display information as to why the UPS switched to battery via the LCD penal. Press the Esc key then the enter key nd using the up or down arrow scroll to Logs. Press enter to open the logs and you will find Xfer events, and Fault Events.
