Test shutdown of connected devices

Hi,

So I have just installed an NMC 9630 card, and installed the PowerChute network shutdown agent on my server. I have also turned on UPS service on my FreeNAS (and it appears to also be configured correctly).

My question - I would like to force a trigger to start the shutdown of my server and NAS, to see if it works. The alternative is to just pull the plug, and wait for a long time, but I would rather hope there was a way to test it either from the UPS LCD control screen, or through the UPS network management console.

Suggestions?

Hi,

What model UPS do you have. If a Smart-UPS open the web interface to the NMC and go to Control UPS and select reboot and be sure to select Signal PCNS clients. The UPS will reboot using the set delay/s and PCNS will power down the server/s.

I have an SMT3000RM2UC - and I don't think I added the step setting the "signal PCNS clients" - I will try that tonight.
