Symmetra PX160 400V Question - Error Message

We have installed a Symmetra PX160 (SY160K160H) at a customer site. The UPS has 4 battery cabinets and no PDU (output goes to the existing customer distribution panel). On startup, we keep getting the following error message:

"Communication failed with metering board"

Does anyone know what this error message means? We cannot find any reference to this in the APC documentation.
