Hi there, I have a Symmetra LX with 6 of the power modules but no battery modules came with it.
I plan to buy a SYBT5 battery pack, Can I run this UPS with one battery pack? or do I need one battery pack per slot where a power module exists?
ie: does the battery pack only power the power module next to it?
I'm new to symmetra, and the manual didn't seem to tell me.
thanks!
M

To add to Bill's comments, the battery modules are not tied to a specific power module. All the power modules will draw power from however many batteries are installed when needed. They just happen to sit right next to each other. But, for example, the power module in L2 is not the only one to use the battery in R2.

Hi,
With a Symmetra LX the unit can hold 5 power modules. 4 active and 1 for redundancy. The total output is 16000 VA. Each power module is 4000 VA. The batteries packs power the unit and the attached equipment/load when AC is not available. You can run with only 1 battery module but depending on the load the unit will not be able to sustain the load for very long. You will find the run-time chart at this link http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/APC-Symmetra-LX-16kVA-Scalable-to-16kVA-N+1-Rack-mount-208-24...
