Hello all,
I just upgraded the firmware on the network interfaces for my PDU's and for the UPSes, and everything appears fine, but there appears to be another upgradeable firmware for the UPS itself. The "about" section shows:
Firmware Revision: 213.143.W
Is that an end-user upgradeable firmware, or should I disregard?
Thanks in advance!

If you are referring to a single phase Symmetra (LX, Power Array, 6 KVA Rackmount), this is definitely not a user upgradeable firmware. It is a base firmware revision internal to the system, not to the network card(s). If you have a larger three phase system, please clarify the model # and I can doublecheck.

Thanks for the reply; you had it right, it's a single phase Symmetra 6 KVA Rackmount. Do I need to worry about that firmware being out of date, and is that something that yearly PM would address?

can you tell us what firmware version you do have? depending on the age and firmware revision, an APC field service engineer may recommend that you upgrade them but it is not always necessary. they would look into this for you though on a PM visit and let you know the best course of action.

hm that firmware itself cant be updated as Erasmus mentioned and the number we are actually looking for is different. it should be located under the Intelligence Module information and look similar to this:
Main Intelligence Module (MIM)
Module Status: On & OK
Serial Number: CD1234567890
Manufacture Date: 07/14/06
Firmware Revision: 143*
Slave Firmware Revision: 226
this is the firmware we are looking for. the other firmware version is a little different - it would take too long to explain/type.
