I have an old Symmetra 8000 which runs GREAT. (Lots of spare parts around too)
I recently had a SYPM failure so I've unplugged the defective SYPM (now running on 1). I noticed something in the web page reporting status....the output current always shows 00.0 AMPS. Is that normal? Does that mean there is no load on the batteries? Or does that means something is wrong with symmetra (or another failed PM) and not properly measuring output. Does output current means from the batteries, or from the UPS as a whole?
I have a server running off this UPS, and the little LCD screen on the symmetra shows between 5% and 10% load. So I would expect to see a current output value there.
(I couldn't find the perfect forum for this post - probably because the Symmetra 8000 is so old). Hopefully someone close to retirement age remembers this thing 🙂

I can't recall if it's always been 0. After dealing with the failed PM I carefully looked at all of the values and thought 0 was strange. I have a power hungy server connected to the output, but maybe that's not enough. I'll experiment and post results.

Hi Michelle,
Has it always shown 0? For this older unit you typically needed to have at least 1-2 amps of load running for it to show. Your wattage percentage shows 5%. It is possible with the small load it just doesn't have the means to update amp reading. You could test this by increasing the load. Let me know if that results in any change.
