We recently acquired a new SYMIM5 for our 16kva Symmetra. When we install the new MIM the system goes into bypass and the screen becomes blank. There are no error codes of any kind. To clear this, we have to remove the MIM turn of/ON and the system comes back. We tried the mim by itself, as a master and a slave. All results lead to the bypass and black screen. Any ideas?

can you check the module for bent pins? a red LED indicates a fault on that particular module.

when you insert this MIM, what LEDs are present on the MIM itself? you can see them through the vent on the front of the module. Let me know from left to right. there are a total of (5) potential LEDs that could be lit.
also is this a "new" MIM like brand new out of the box or just a different module that may have been used prior?
is a RIM still installed in the system at this time? which location are you connecting the CAT5 cable from the powerview display? Into this new MIM or the RIM? also, when you say MIM, that would imply to me that you are installing it in the bottom intelligence module slot - is that correct?
was there a previous issue with this system that we should know about as well which is why you are replacing this module?

Hi,
When it's connected the MIM turns on two LEDs, one orange and one red, like the normal operating modules. However the UPS is still going to Bypass. The display is connected to the main intelligence module that is working.
- the module has been previously used, it's worked fine
- the previous mim died, we had another system that we dismanted and used the MIM from there.
Let me know your thoughts.
