Standalone UPS's or Rack-Mount?
Hello all, I am in a dilemma and would like some substantiated advice on which route to go:
I operate a critical facility, that is required 24/7/365 and is state regulated. We currently are utilizing several (about 15) standalone APC Backup UPS-1500's. We run mostly servers, computers and a few radio/communications equipment devices that output at 110watts.
I personally like the way rack mount UPS's take up less space and are much cleaner. However, cost is a factor along with reliability. My predecessor used only these because they were cheaper and easier.
What are some advantages/disadvantages of the way we are operating? And should we buy rack mounts instead?
