Ok - I have run PowerChute Business on this SmartUPS for several years. I went to use it and thought I had simply forgotten my password. I then followed the guideline to uninstall/reinstall PowerChute Business, I have the CD for V8.5.1. That reinstallation went ok, and the UPS system was found on the USB. But, I still could not use the Agent to connect. It did not respond when I entered the user name/password just configured. I noted the following
NOTE: The PowerChute Business Edition web interface requires the Sun Microsystems 1.4.2 32-bit JVM or higher plug-in for your 32-bit web browser. 64-bit web browser or JVM is not supported.
This is a 64bit system, running Wni10.
I then downloaded Version 9.2 and attempted to update - it gets to an unable to locate UPS then gives an option if the UPS has a DB9 or RJ11 connector. My SmartUPS is USB connected. The update fails at this point, trying either DB9 or RJ11 results in failure.
Why should it be so hard ? What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
Uninstall the 8.5.1 version then run the 9.2 installer. If the UPS is not automatically discovered select DB9 if the Smart-UPS is a SU, SUA model. If the Smart-UPS is a SMT, or SMX model select RJ45. You can also run the PowerChute Agent installer and skip the initial auto discovery. See FAQ FA159703 and review the attached video.
