Good Day and thank you for your time,
I have a UPS that I monitor in a remote location.
I can dispatch a tech to perform maintenance but I cannot perform much troubleshooting without them.
With that said I have a Smart-UPS X 2000 and an External Battery Pack which was installed this year.
It has two Critical Alarms and I see the battery is not charging fully.

Basically I see my options as such:
Get the chassis replacement under warranty and have the tech do a swap
Get replacement batteries and have a tech do that swap
If necessary I can walk an unqualified individual through performing the brain dead procedure prior to the above options.

Hi Wayne,
The brain dead is the troubleshooting step I would perform. With the unit being only a little over a year old I would not expect the issue to be bad batteries. If the fault returns after the brain dead the unit would likely need to be replaced.
I would call your local support when you have someone in front of the unit so they can get all the information they need and then perform that brain dead procedure. The procedure is rather simple and as long as the individual on site is comfortable, the tech support rep will be able to walk them through it.
