I run a number of SMX750 UPS to support remote radio sites. I've recently added network cards to these and used the Runtime Calibration test feature. I'm assuming this test works, but the indication on the network card never goes away. There is an option to cancel the test but it has no effect. I think the test has happened and it is just the indication that has stuck, but it probably means you can't repeat the test. I've tried resetting the network card but that made no difference. So I then tried it on a spare and the test worked as expected, ran the batteries down to 25% charge, put the mains back and said test complete. I then checked software versions. The network cards are on v6.2.0 but the original UPS are on firmware UPS 03.8 (ID11) but the new one is on 09.1 (ID20). Presumably I need to upgrade the firmware of the older UPS. Has anyone come across this problem? Its quite tricky to do the firmware upgrades as the customer doesn't tolerate outages, so having to reboot all the UPS when they have been put in to avoid outages will not make me popular.
I've done some more checks and for SMX750 early hardware versions are only upgradable to 3.8. It looks like the network cards/firmware are incompatible.

George,
We would not recommend upgrading UPS firmware except for a few specific cases. You mentioned you did a reset on the nmc's still showing this alert, do you mean you ran a reboot management interface command? That would be my best recommendation. Calibrations are also not recommended more often than once every 6 months as they are very taxing on the batteries. Have you confirmed on site with the units that they are indeed working fine outside of the trial you did with one unit?
