Hello dear sirs and greetings from Greece.
I bought an SMT1000i to protect my 2008R2 server and workstation. I connected the USB to the server, installed Parachute 9.2 and configured like this
The status of the UPS shows Load 41% and Runtime remaining 32 minutes
1) When there is power loss and the runtime reaches 8 minutes (500sec) the shutdown sequence starts. I have configured a 10 sec delay of the shutdown sequence so as to send a shutdown command to the workstation (@START "" "c:\Windows\system32\shutdown.exe" /s /f /t 10 /m \\computername) (I noticed by testing it that it works only if the apc agent service in properties is allowed to log on with the administrator credentials of the server that the agent is installed and also noticed that the command needed the /f force parameter to work)
2) The server and workstation take about 3 minutes to completelly shut down so I configured a 240 sec shutdown duration.
3) The outlets are configured to be be off for at least 30 seconds and when power is restored there is a delay of 180 seconds ( to ensure a bit of battery charging) before the outlets turn on and the two machines power on (as I have configured the Bios)
So I have a couple questions.
A) I have attached screnshots of the configuration. Can you verify that I have done the settings correctly according to my scenario?
B) If power is restored just some seconds or just before the outlets turn off (and the shutdown has already started or completed and the shutdown command has already been sent to the workstation), will the outlet sequence be honored and obeyed (so as the outlets turn off for 30 seconds and then wait another 180 seconds and then turn on) or will it be abandoned and the UPS outlets will just keep to be turned on?
I am worried that if the latter happens the server and workstation which have been already shutdown will not have the option to power on again as there will be no turn off and then turn on of the outlets.
C) Just in case, does the agent support wake on lan command to another computer and if yes what is the syntax.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
With your configuration when the UPS has 500 seconds remaining of battery life PowerChute will run your command file. It will wait 10 seconds and then start the OS shutdown along with the outlet groups power off delay of 240 seconds. If power is restored before the outlet group power off delay is completed the UPS will continue the countdown and kill power to the outlet groups. The UPS will then wait 30 seconds and if AC has been restored begin the 180 second additional outlet on delay. Once the additional 180 delay has elapsed the outlet groups will power up and if you have configured the system BIOS properly the computer will restart.
