The other day the UPS was beeping and the replace battery light was on, so I purchased two new batterys and put them in. I've then let them charge up for 24 hours.
I checked in the PowerChute software and the Device Status show battery charged and battery charge at 100%.
I then decided to run a self test and a few seconds later it said in the log that it passed, I then noticed that the PowerChute software now says Device Status of battery discharged and battery charge of 0%. I left for about 8 hours for it to charge back up to 100%.
I then decided to try and run the Runtime Calibration which didn't appear to do anything but then again noticed that the PowerChute software now says Device Status of battery discharged and battery charge of 0%. t is currently charging back up.
Anyone any ideas what is going on?
Thanks
Simon

Simon,
Have you tried unplugging the UPS with the load connected? If you did, was there any changes with the battery capacity and how long was the runtime?

This morning I have totally shut down the unit and disconnected mains power for 5 minutes, plugged it back in and turned it on and again it says Device Status of battery discharged and battery charge of 0%. It is currently charging backup.

The UPS probably requires calibration, especially if the old batteries were uselessly weak, or close to.
You'll need a few things in order to complete this procedure:
1. An outlet strip having a power switch.
2. Resistive loads totaling to at least 30% of the unit's capacity. Incandescent lamps work well.
3. Access to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
Safely power down the protected loads and disconnect them from the UPS. Turn off the UPS and disconnect it from the wall outlet. Locate it in a place where you can work without interruption.
Reconnect the UPS to power through the outlet strip. Turn both on. Allow the UPS to charge its battery for a minimum of eight hours. When that time has passed, connect the lamps and turn them on. At that time, turn the switch on the outlet strip to off, which should force the UPS to battery. Both the outlet strip and the UPS must remain plugged in, so as to maintain the connection to ground.
Let the UPS run without interruption until it shuts down due to battery exhaustion. When the UPS shuts off, restore power and allow it to charge the batteries again for a minimum of eight hours.
After the batteries have again charged, restore the unit to normal service.
It is possible that this procedure won't work if the previously installed batteries were bad enough.

I completed the above and everything looked fine without a load, but when I put the load back on the the Staus shows as Battery Discharged but the Battery Charge shows at 100%. UPS Load is 39.6%.
