Smart UPS SC 1500 continuous rapid beeping

Replaced battery on Smart UPS SC 1500 (SN 5S0711T80625) and now the UPS is making a continuous rapid beeping sound while on battery light is lit. The UPS remains in this condition whether plugged in or not. There is no load on the UPS. How to make beeping stop?

Hello -

You would want to unplug the UPS and disconnect the battery to make the beeping stop. This beeping likely indicates a bad battery - Do you know when it was last replaced? Your UPS is 13 years old and batteries typically last 3-5 years. Given the age of the UPS I would recommend replacing the entire unit rather than just the battery.
